Take your instinct to heart. Your whole life, you’ve lived. Brilliance shines out from within, you got this shit. All those positive platitudes come to mind, encouragement. Where does all that go when doubt creeps in? Awful, the internal ‘man is the example’ “pretend you’re a man” was what went through my mind. No doubts, navigating the world as if it belonged to you. That’s not fair to men either, I bet they have lots of doubts (who knows). That’s why feminism is for everyone, we all get to relax our rigid roles. That’s why messy gender is worth it, what all we’re going through right now that has the patriarchy shaking in their boots. Upend that boat.
It can be hard when all you’re reduced to is tits and cunt. One of the funniest things I heard a college friend say was that he could understand why women would be lesbians because they have boobs and regular. Regular! I laughed so hard at that. Bullshit if you think about it because boys have boobs. Sensitive nipples are fun for everyone. Use ass-based insults, everyone has one.
What do I have to offer in the way of wisdom. Your womanhood is just that, yours. Measure yourself against the meander of the way you live. “Amy keeps her own counsel.” someone said about me once. Part compliment part dis. There are always going to be ways you look at yourself in comparison to others, work to minimize that. Practice hearing your own voice until it sings strong and true.
Fuck, what do I know?
